A Warmup Ride

Yes... We started riding.. This was our first warmup ride which we see as a starting milestone for something big.. Well thats what we are aiming for… Do not know how it will end up but why worries…
We are all having so much passion for riding from the beginning but it all triggered by one of the post from web.. Its from Praveen KM. I am not sure how well people aware of this guy but for us he is a true hero.. who went on a ‘Destination Unknown’ in his Karizma and circled the whole India… thats what we call chasing dreams.. he is the inspiration.. and respect!!! we dono how big we plan but we want to follow his tracks.. Its a different world out there.. beautifully written in his blog..
The truth is out there… Get out of your couch!!

It is a totally beuatiful feeling when you come out of your small world between room, office, laptop and internet… There are lot of things to see.. Lot of things to learn!! Lot of things to explore!! Yes we do have constraints.. Otherwise i would have already on road circling India on my pulsar 150…:)  wish it could come true..
We three started on 7th Jan 2012 evening 4.00 to go on a ride without any destination in mind, just to cover around some 50km and come back.. It was also as a warmup ride which we planned to take before going to Srishailam next week.. And more importantly to test the 20,000 rupees riding gears which Canute bought :) .. We are all crazy for rides but nobody think too much about safety or any of the accessories and were not ready to spend on it except him.. But to his force me and Bharath had already booked knee pad and elbow pad for 500 bucks each on ebay and were feeling more proud than his 5k riding jacket and 7.5k riding axo shoes :)
At sharp 4.00 we were on our bike taking first picture before starting our vehicle with big thumb gesture photos on Canute’s new canon Camera..

We hit the road after some 4-5 photos riding towards Miyapur. Took right at Alvin X road and there we got into a crowdy traffic, i almost lost my cool because i was the one who left behind there:(. In the middle way we lost Canute and i called him up.. I wasnt sure whether he crossed me or we crossed him.. It would be like a dead lock if we dont come to know because we did not know any landmarks on the way.. Canute gave a very simple but intelligent idea.. He asked me to check my KM reading as we three reset to Zero before we start.. Mine was 11.5.. He asked to come to 12.4!!! and definitely ahead of us.. and at exactly at 12.4 he was there :)
After some hustling with the traffic we reached the Nagpur road highway and then it was a smooth ride.. And thats where my bike gave me a little hiccup.. As i did not take my Pulsar 150 to any long rides, My bike wasn’t acclimatized to long rides or speed above 80..  And one thing to agree in my bike is that pickup speed is terrible..I need to tune it.. But apart from blaming on my bike it was my mistake too that i wasn’t making any perfect shifts and i used to shift to 5th gear when it reaches to 40km/h.. I was the one to left behind because of this and my so called friends started blaming on me along with my poor bike when we stopped for a photo shoot :)
We took some snaps there and we have already crossed some 35km..

Me!!
Sunset was awesome but there wasnt any clear view of sun to take a pic… and my stomach was crying for food.. after taking leak by the side of road we hit the road again planning to stop by near one dhaba which is on the way.. Canute did say some of the signals back in room to follow while riding but nobody paid much attention:) . But we did remember one signal to stop everybody.. I had to use it when I saw the beautiful but almost setting sun with red background.. It was awesome.. and was more happy when i could capture with zoom on our Canon..!!

Setting Sun!!
And on the road again.. This time i was leading with making perfect shift and was always above 90.. well me and my pulsar were both pissed off because of my friend’s comments :). We had to prove and we did!!! but in the run we missed the dhaba as canute was behind us and we dint see any of his signal :), I am not sure whether he did any.. Then we decided to stop at the first dhaba after crossing 50km.. After 52km we found one decent looking dhaba and went in.. It was still dusk with fading light.. U should appreciate the Camera because in that low light too it took a memorable pic of our bikes which we all agree as a pic of the day..

Pic of the day.. Our rides!!
We took 1 simple roti and 1 butter roti each along with kadai and butter chicken.. but literally there was no difference between the both curry.. It was same!!! well we didn’t go to ask with the waiter as prices were also same for both :). Anyway you should not expect much from these dhaba’s.. We finished our food and it was some 350 bucks for 3 people.. fair enough..

Roti and Kadai Chicken… Yummy!!
Took one snap of the moon between clouds and decided to go on again for another 15 km and then to head back.. Although everybody was so much enthusiastic to continue the ride it was not a good idea to continue on night ride as it would be more dangerous as roads will be filled with recklessly driving truck drivers… We took turn once we crossed 75km and just stopped at the side with our indicators ON and took some snaps..

As we should not stop the bikes on the national highway, we thought of hurrying back.. Then we had the perfect one long stretch to home with no stop in between.. And there was a perfect sync in three of us, leading one guy for some km.. and then other guy took over.. and after some time another guy.. so that we were sure that nobody left behind.. The average speed while coming back was almost at 75km/h.. But once we enter the city it was once again freaking traffic.. and as usual i left behind.. we reached home at 9.00 with some 5 min difference but over all it was a perfect warmup ride.. And many suggestions came from Bharath although he dint realise some of them were already mentioned by Canute even before the ride.. Good thing that he came to know.. Same with me too.. !! :)
